PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: [REQUIRES EGA OR VGA GRAPHICS]
SILICON SKY is a planetarium program which displays stars brighter than
magnitude 4.5 which can be seen from a given locality at a specified time,
date and viewing horizon. Constellations are identified, and the
motions of the sun, moon and planets are also given. In addition, the
program shows "telescopic" views of the moon and bright planets, along with a
selection of deep sky objects and double stars.
New features for version 6.0 are:
(1) A completely redesigned interface which enables the program
to be operated with a mouse (or keyboard if no mouse is
available).
(2) A "full sky" display showing all of the sky visible at a
given location at once.
(3) An accurate graphic display of each pair of the double stars
in the data base as they would be seen in a small telescope.
(4) Any star or planet with an obvious reddish or yellowish tinge
is plotted in realistic color.
